Freeze-drying removes the water from a cooked meal. You put the water back. Everything below is just doing that properly.
The pouch is the measure
The #1 fear with freeze-dried food is getting the water wrong. So we printed the answer on the pouch — no cup, no math.
Empty
Tear open the pouch. Tip the contents into a bowl. Take out the oxygen absorber sachet and throw it away — it keeps the food dry, it isn't food.
Measure
Cut the pouch horizontally along the printed line. The bottom becomes a cup. Fill it with water to the top edge. That is exactly the water this meal needs — no cup, no math.
Boil
Pour that water into a kettle or pot and bring it to a rolling boil. Boiling matters — warm water won't rehydrate it properly.
Pour & cover
Pour the boiling water over the contents. Stir five or six times so it reaches everything. Cover with a lid — a plate works, airtight is better.
Wait 7–10, then eat
Set a timer — seven minutes minimum, ten for the softest bowl. Don't open it early. Uncover, stir five or six times again, and eat hot.
Boiling water + the right amount + 5–6 stirs + 5 full minutes covered = the right way.
Things you might want to ask
No kettle. Can I still make it?
Yes. Cool water rehydrates freeze-dried food fully — it just takes heat afterwards. Add cool water to cover the contents, microwave 3–5 minutes, stir, then let it rest 7–10 minutes before eating.
Will it taste like home, or like a packet?
Like home. We cook the real recipe in a real kitchen and freeze-dry the finished dish, so taste, texture and aroma come back — not a powder's version of them.
How long does a pouch last?
Twelve months at room temperature, unopened. No fridge needed. Refrigerate only after you've prepared it.
What's actually in it? Is it vegetarian?
Real vegetables, lentils, dairy and whole spices. Always 100% vegetarian, always no onion and no garlic. No preservatives, no MSG, no palm oil, no artificial flavours.
